Assessment

Executive Team Assessment provides an objective evaluation of the strengths and weaknesses of the team at the top. It focuses on the current status of the team as well as on future needs. Each executive receives extensive feedback about his/her strengths and shortcomings. A team overview is also part of the process. This is a valuable individual diagnostic tool as well as a crucial baseline in the beginning of a consulting relationship. We typically start a new client engagement with this activity.

Executive Assessment involves an interview which focuses on education, work history, background, self-perceptions, goals, etc. Standardized tests and personality inventories are also used to provide normative data. Individual executive assessment as part of an executive team assessment often includes a customized 360 or peer rating.

For candidate selection assessments immediate telephone feedback is provided to the hiring executive. This feedback focuses on the candidate's strengths, developmental needs and potential limitations relative to the position in question. The end result is a written report which focuses on conceptual skills, emotional make-up, motivational factors, interpersonal skills and leadership style. The executive being assessed is provided comprehensive information regarding his or her psychological strengths, personality characteristics and suggestions for career planning and personal growth. The feedback is presented in a face-to-face session with the psychologist.

Standard Psychological Assessment. This process is similar to the executive assessment. However, for mid-level managers and individual performers the interview may not be as long because the work histories aren't usually as extensive. The standardized testing is usually the same for both groups. Feedback to the company and to the individual is also handled in a similar manner.

Remote Battery (Assessment Without Interview). Some clients prefer to administer a test battery at their location and to have us interpret the results without the face-to-face interview. In these circumstances we don't make recommendations for employment but we do offer extensive descriptive information and suggestions for further interviews, reference checks and on-the-job development.

Executive Coaching

We also offer more in-depth, individualized coaching programs designed to enhance performance of new or experienced leaders. Coaching is ongoing and is focused on psychological consultation, not therapy. It is used to help successful executives reach even higher levels of performance, and involves targeting specific developmental areas for improvement. We provide professional critique and feedback using a variety of methods to help the executive develop an action plan and to assist in the implementation of that plan during regular consultation sessions.

On-Line Services

On-line Testing. The BCL (Business Check List) is the heart of our on-line testing service. This assessment is typically used for entry-level sales, customer/technical support and administrative positions. The information provided by this testing can help the hiring manager tailor his or her further interviews and reference checks with the candidate. Feedback to the hiring manager or HR professional is immediate. This service is provided by our sister company, eTest, Inc. (www.etest.net).

Surveys. Need quick turnaround of survey data? We help design, implement and deliver multi-rater feedback (360 assessments), attitude surveys, team diagnostics and other similar survey data over the internet. We have a variety of standard instruments for such purposes but many clients use our customized surveys. We can administer a client's traditional annual survey on-line for quicker turnaround and greater ease of use.

Test Development and Validation

Need to update your tests and pre-employment selection procedures? We help clients select and develop appropriate tests for a wide range of purposes. We can help clients determine if their current testing programs are valid for performance prediction and we can also help determine if there is adverse impact from their current selection procedures. If new tests are needed, we can develop and validate them on a turnkey basis or we can provide advice at strategic points in the in-house development process.

Job Analysis

Are you selecting for the right things to be competitive in a changing and increasingly complex environment? We help clients determine the competencies necessary for success in any job and we help find ways to measure those competencies. This information is used in selection and development to ensure a fully functioning and capable work force which is in sync with corporate mission, function and values.

Survey Research

Do you prefer traditional survey methods? We help clients develop and administer pencil-and-paper surveys as well as electronically delivered surveys. This can be done as a start-to-finish project or we can provide consulting services for clients conducting in-house surveys. Our clients often outsource yearly organization-wide surveys because we can typically do them more quickly and cost effectively. Also, we provide an objective outside source of counsel and we can guarantee the anonymity which is sometimes impossible to maintain if the survey is completely internal to the organization.

Training

Need to address unique training needs? We offer a variety of customized workshops and training experiences for individuals and intact work groups. These are typically half-day sessions and cover such topics as interviewing skills for hiring managers, stress management skills for business people, self-analysis and insight for success in an organization, etc.

Teamwork Development

How well does your team function? We help executive teams diagnose their strengths and weaknesses and help them compare themselves to high performance teams on crucial success dimensions. We develop custom programs to suit the client's unique environment and also offer standard teambuilding workshops. We typically work with our clients on a long-term basis, often meeting with the management team on a regular basis for continuing team assessment and development.
